NEW YORK, NY  [Friday May.19.2006]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- As in year's past, women in music have once again made their mark on Maxim Magazine's seventh annual Hot 100 list.

Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Clarkson, Natasha Bedingfield, and Mariah Carey are just some of the singers to land on this year's list of 100 of the most successful women of the year in film, television, music, sports and fashion. According to Maxim, the magazine's editors select the women who make the Hot 100 based on the "amount of buzz surrounding them, undeniable beauty and a promise of greater things to come."

"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria tops the list for the second year in a row. Some of the women in music to earn spots on the Hot 100 include Christina Milian (#10), Christina Aguilera (#16), Jessica Simpson (#18), Mariah Carey (#22), Mandy Moore (#28), Avril Lavigne (#35), Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas (#36), Alicia Keys (#40), Beyonce (#45), Joss Stone (#58), Shakira (#60), Kelly Clarkson (#69), Ciara (#77), Amerie (#84) and Natasha Bedingfield (#100).

The Maxim Hot 100 supplement will be available with the June issue of Maxim. VH1 is also planning to air a one-hour special on the Hot 100 on May 30th.
