BURBANK, CA  [Monday Jan.5.2004]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- Chris Martin, frontman for Coldplay, and his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, were dressed so "down" they were nearly booted from an airline flight.

The couple checked in for a trip to Mexico at Gatwick Airport dressed so poorly that ground staff thought they might be hobos.

Martin wore boots and dirty khaki pants. Paltrow, the Oscar™ winner, wore ripped jeans and old shoes.

The dirty duo were kept talking by the helpful airport staff while it was checked to see if there was a dress code for the flight. After a short delay, they were allowed on the airplane, or Aeroplane, as they say in the Jolly UK.

A source said: "This was something of a one-off. It was highly embarrassing when Chris and Gwyneth arrived at the first-class check-in desk.

Initially, it was thought they were down-and-outs and had stopped to ask for directions."
