MELBOURNE, AU  [Friday Jun.18.2004]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- After Jet canceled part of its Australian tour in May due to "a serious family illness," fans wondered if the band would be able to tour this summer.

Irish and UK fans breathed a sigh of relief when, at the beginning of June, Jet played six scheduled dates in Ireland, England and Scotland. However, the band was "forced to pull out" of its June 25 appearance at the Glastonbury Music Festival, and Jet also canceled a June 26 show in Germany. "Serious family illness" was again the cause for cancellation. According to the band's official UK web site, the members of Jet returned to Australia "to spend time with their families." The band and its management are keeping details about the family illness private at this time.

So is Jet still coming to the US in July? At this time, the band is scheduled to kick off its North American headlining tour on July 1 in Niagara Falls, New York. Jet will tour the US and parts of Canada through July 27, when they play The Fillmore in San Francisco, California.
