LOS ANGELES, CA  [Tuesday Jul.27.2004]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- It's official. Yellowcard's latest album, "Ocean Avenue," is now platinum according to the RIAA. The 13 songs on "Ocean Avenue" explore themes of self-awareness and self-empowerment while avoiding sarcasm and irony. Says vocalist-guitarist Ryan Key on the band's web site, "We're definitely a positive band. We want to take experiences in our life and use them in a productive way, to encourage people not to let anybody tell them what to do with their life."

Yellowcard is currently on tour to promote "Ocean Avenue." The band headlines a show tonight in Louisville, Kentucky. The quintet also plays on the Vans Warped Tour through August 19.
