HOLLYWOOD, CA  [Friday Dec.17.2004]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- Gwen Stefani makes her big screen debut today, December 17, in the Howard Hughes biopic, "The Aviator." Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the Martin Scorsese-directed movie, and Stefani portrays film legend, Jean Harlow. And even though her part is small -- Stefani has just one line in the film -- it means the world to her. Stefani, told MTV.com, "Let's face it, there's never a small part in a Martin Scorsese film."

So did Stefani find playing Jean Harlow challenging? The singer and clothing designer told MTV, "Obviously, [Harlow's] the original blond bombshell. You can see that she inspired me. And [the part] was really familiar, walking down the red carpet, so it wasn't really branching out. Acting is a lot different than singing. It's not as theatrical, it's a lot more subtle, and that's a lot harder. Simpler is usually harder. So I would love to do more. I got my feet wet, but I would love to go swimming."

And what's Stefani's one line? "I would like to use this occasion to publicly thank Mr. Hughes for the opportunity he gave me. Thank you."
