MIAMI, FL.  [Thursday Aug.18.2005]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- MTV keeps recruiting the stars for its 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, with Coldplay and 50 Cent now joining the show's performance lineup.

Along with Coldplay and 50 Cent, other top acts scheduled to perform at this year's show in Miami include Green Day, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, the Killers, Ludacris, Mariah Carey and Shakira.

Coldplay could potentially walk away from the show with four moonmen trophies, including the Video of the Year award for "Speed of Sound."

50 Cent could grab two VMAs. The rapper is up for Best Male Video for "Candy Shop" and Best Rap Video with the Game for "Hate It or Love It."

The 2005 MTV Video Music Awards airs direct from Miami on August 28th at 8 pm ET/PT on MTV.
