LONDON, UK  [Thursday Sep.29.2005]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- The nominees for the 12th annual MTV Europe Music Awards have been announced, and the Gorillaz, Coldplay and Gwen Stefani are at the front of the pack.

The Gorillaz and Coldplay are each up for five awards including Best Group, Best Song, and Best UK and Ireland Act. The Gorillaz also received nods for Best Pop Act and Best Video, while Coldplay's other nominations included Best Rock Act and Best Album.

Gwen Stefani follows the Gorillaz and Coldplay with four EMA nominations. Stefani is in the running for Best Female Act, Best Album, Best Pop Act and Best Video.

Plenty more artists are in this year's race for the EMAs including U2, Green Day, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and James Blunt, who are each up for three awards.

Fans in Europe and Africa will vote online to decide the EMA winners in every category except Best Video.

The 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards take place November 3rd in Lisbon, Portugal and will be hosted by Sacha Baron Cohen.
