PHILADELPHIA, PA  [Tuesday Nov.8.2005]  /RedBoxCode.com/ -- Musicians made history on July 2, 2005, when they joined together for Live 8, eight simultaneous concerts held around the world to raise awareness about extreme poverty.

The concerts -- staged just before the G8 summit in Great Britain -- took place in London, Philadelphia, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow, Toronto and Johannesburg. The shows were organized by Sir Bob Geldof, who also organized Live Aid 20 years ago.

Among the artists featured on the four-disc Live 8 DVD are U2, Coldplay, the Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West, Sir Paul McCartney, Toby Keith, and a reunited Pink Floyd. The disc also includes the first ever live performance of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," as played by McCartney and U2.

The Live 8 DVD features numerous performances from a number of today's top artists including Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5, Elton John, R.E.M., Dido and Youssou N'Dour, Keane, Keith Urban, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, Snoop Dogg, Bon Jovi, Annie Lennox, Destiny's Child, Madonna, Linkin Park and Jay-Z, Joss Stone, Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Will Smith, Neil Young, Rob Thomas, The Who, Bjork, Jet, Sarah McLachlan and Josh Groban, and more.
