The CD features 21 Grammy-nominated artists including the Gorillaz, Green Day and Mariah Carey. The songs on the CD represent several major Grammy categories such as Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Album.

The "2006 Grammy Nominees CD" includes tracks by Beck, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, Death Cab For Cutie, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Gorillaz featuring De La Soul, Green Day, Jack Johnson, John Legend, Paul McCartney, Rascal Flatts, the Rolling Stones, Seal, Bruce Springsteen, Rob Thomas, U2, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young.

A portion of the CD's sales benefit the MusiCares Foundation and the Grammy Foundation.
